Two-Day Mega Event on Patient Safety in Bihar
The event, the first of its kind in the state, brought together all major private hospitals on a unified platform, supported by the CAHO, AHPI, and the Indian Medical Association (IMA), in alignment with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) global annual event on patient safety.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha inaugurated the Health Expo on the first day of the event alongside Dr Vijay Agarwal. He commended Dr Satyajit Kumar Singh, Managing Director of Ruban Hospital, Patna, for organising this significant WHO event on such a grand scale in Bihar, recognising the importance of such initiatives in advancing healthcare in the state.
The Health Minister of Bihar, Shri Mangal Pandey, was the chief speaker, who lit the inaugural lamp alongside Dr Vijay Agarwal and Dr Sahjanand, the former President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) National. In his address, the Health Minister emphasised the importance of acknowledging errors in healthcare and fostering open discussions to explore strategies for improving patient outcomes. He was particularly pleased to note that many of the stalls at the Health Expo were hosted by local companies that have grown within Bihar, serving communities across India. This initiative not only promoted healthcare innovation but also supported the ‘Make in Bihar’ movement.
